Nestled in the heart of Kensington, close to downtown Calgary, you will find the Kensington Legion. With over 3,000 members, the Kensington Legion is Canada’s largest branch and one of the friendliest! Young or old, when you join the Legion, you’ll become part of one of the most welcoming communities in the city, with access to the best events and activities. Not a member? No problem. The Legion, including the Canteen, Live Music Nights and Dining Specials, is open to the public.
Our History
Founded in 1953, the Legion and its rich history serve as a reminder of those who gave their lives for what we have today. As you walk through the Legion, you’ll see our museum of medals and plaques and our Legion shop, where you can make purchases to support local veterans. Kensington Legion also features annual Remembrance Day events and is a proud supporter of the Remembrance Day Poppy Fund.
The Legion is also a place full of life, working with the local community and providing a space for personal and corporate gatherings, large and small. All of our reception halls and meeting facilities are available for private functions any day or evening of the week, and full catering packages are available. From wedding reception venues to corporate party rental rooms, our facilities can accommodate any size group. Kensington Legion Today
Although historically the Legion has been portrayed as a place for older veterans, Kensington Legion is proud to also have a blossoming membership of young veterans. From live music to baseball & football games to shuffleboard, you’ll find all the activities you love when you become a member of the Legion.
