Frank Earl Barham

Born on October 3, 1924, Frank Earl Barham lived a life defined by service, generosity, and joy. He was many things to many people — a devoted son and brother, a proud soldier, a beloved uncle and husband, a dedicated railroader, a caring father and grandfather, a tireless volunteer, and a loyal friend.

Frank lived life with an open heart and a steady moral compass, guided by values that endure even when they’re too easily forgotten: love, honour, principle, integrity, and joy.

For more than 45 years, he was an active Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, where he held numerous elected positions, including Branch President, and was ultimately recognized with the Legion’s distinguished Meritorious Service Medal. His commitment to community extended beyond the Legion — he was instrumental in establishing the Parabus service for people with disabilities in North Bay, improving access and dignity for countless residents.

Those who knew Frank will remember his warmth, his dedication, his sense of humour, and his unmatched skill at fishing — he could outfish anyone who joined him in the boat. His legacy lives on not only in his accomplishments but in the lives he touched and the example he set
