It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Past President and Life Member, Comrade Mark Barham. Comrade Barham dedicated over 50 years of service to Legion branches across Canada, beginning at Branch No. 23 in North Bay, Ontario, before serving in St. John, Whitby, and Winnipeg. He eventually settled in Calgary, where he played a pivotal role in revitalizing Branch No. 264 into a modern-day Legion. His leadership extended well beyond the local level—serving as Treasurer of the Alberta–Northwest Territories Command, a member of the Dominion Executive Council, and Chair of the National Finance Committee for four terms, overseeing pay, budget, investment, and pension matters. He was also part of the Going Forward Committee and served as Director of the Whitney Victoria Barham Foundation. His exceptional service was recognized with the Meritorious Service Medal. Coming from a proud family of Second World War veterans, Comrade Barham brought passion and dedication to everything he did. Outside the Legion, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, hockey, and writing. He will be deeply missed, but his impact and legacy at Branch No. 264 will continue to be felt for years to come.
